The Cheshire Cat Karakuri Puzzle Box by Yoh Kakuda
The crafter describes their work in the following manner, "I made a Karakuri Box on the theme of the Cheshire Cat, a character from the book "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll.
This is a remake of Cheshire Cat that I was invited to create for a project called the Jabberwocky Project.
This project was based on ‘’Alice in Wonderland’’ themes and puzzle artists from around the world created puzzle boxes in their own style.
I added one more trick, made it a little bigger, and changed the colors.
The artistic change and key element is the branding iron of the paw made for this work.
The body disappears while wagging its tail, leaving only the face, which also disappears with a smile... I created the trick by such an image.
To create an eerie effect, brass was used for the eyes."
This creative puzzle was originally created for the June of 2022!
Measures approximately 113 x 62 x 56b mm with a storage space of 50 x 24 x 18.5 mm. Crafted in Wendge and Maple.
