Another Binary Drawer Japanese Puzzle Box by Hiroshi Iwahara

This work was designed for an exhibition theme of "palpitate".

Described by Iwahara as the following:'The “binary” is used by different way until now. This way may be more primitive usage. Unlock the drawers by moving the bars. To see the number of 3 and 8 did you get a hint? Each bar means each place of binary. When a bar is opened, it means 1, and a bar is closed, it means 0. Each drawer means 0, 1, 2, ….and 7. “Move up of digit” is expressed more exactly. Similar mechanism will be possible at trinary and others. But, more than at least 18 drawers must be made in case of trinary…"

Crafted in Walnut, Zebra Wood, Magnolia,Maple,Birch, Padoauk.and measures 246 x 139 x 69 mm.
