The 1948 Captain Midnight badge was a radio premium offered to listeners of the Captain Midnight radion show, which was sponsored by Ovaline. These badges, officially called Code-O-Graphs, were part of the Secret Squadron, a paramilitary organization within the show's storyline. Listeners would send in Ovaltine proof-of-purchase seals to obtain the badge, which doubled as a cipher device During the war, the production of these pieces were limited and when Ovaltine ran out they sent apology letter and substituted a premium from earlier years.
These decoder badges are getting very difficult to find.
